Shane Muldowney Channels Multi-sport Background into Golf
At 10 years old, while playing ice hockey, Shane thought letting his hair flow out the back of his helmet was cool. Before that, he played soccer and football. A few years later, his dad took him to a golf range between hockey seasons. Shane came home and declared, “I want to play golf!” A passion was ignited from the first swing.
Shane’s junior golf career was marked by early success, clinching titles like the 2016 FCG National Tour Spring Series Champion in the college prep division and a 2015 FCWT win.
His talent and determination earned him a spot on the NCAA Div 1 golf team at UC Davis, where he continued to shine. During his college career, a debate among his teammates emerged — should Shane cut his signature long hair? The vote was tied, but just before his sophomore year started, his girlfriend weighed in with the tiebreaking vote, and the hair was cut (and donated).
A trailblazer in the golf world where longer hair is now more common (think Tommy Fleetwood, Cameron Smith, Neal Shipley), Shane grinds as an aspiring tour pro, combining his funny, smart, and friendly personality with a fierce competitive spirit. On the course, he’s a golfer who loves the game and loves to compete with a fire in his belly, showcasing an intense and passionate side when fighting to win tournaments. Shane’s appeal is broad, resonating with golfers of all kinds who want to enjoy a round with someone who embodies both the drive and the fun of the sport.
